Ziplines in Satisfactory can be unlocked early through the MAM Caterium Research tree, and players can use them to travel using Power Lines.
Ziplines are one of the early game tools in Satisfactory that can help players get around much easier. Only a few resources are needed to make a Zipline, but Power Lines also need to be crafted to use the tool. Luckily, the Power Lines don't need to actually have power, and the Zipline can be used to ride across or transfer between them.
Before crafting and using a Zipline, players will need to unlock the tool by completing some of the Caterium Research tree at the Molecular Analysis Machine, which can be unlocked in Satisfactory at Tier One. The Zipline is the fifth branch in the Caterium Research tree, and players will need to donate 50 Cables and 100 Quickwires to unlock the crafting recipe. Quickwire and Cable will already be unlocked when the Zipline recipe is accessible.

Both Copper Ore and Caterium Ore will need to be collected to craft the Quickwires and Cables needed to unlock the Zipline. Copper Ore can be crafted into Copper Ingots, then turned into Wire, which makes Cables. Similarly, Caterium Ore needs to be turned into Caterium Ingots in order to craft Quickwires. It's recommended that players collect more than what's needed because both Cables and Quickwires are also required to craft a Zipline after unlocking the recipe.
The recipe for crafting a Zipline requires 30 Quickwires, 10 Cables, three Iron Rods, and one Xeno-Zapper. Iron Rods can be obtained by collecting some of the Iron Ore resource in Satisfactory and turning them into Iron Ingots. Players are given a Xeno-Zapper as a melee weapon after exiting the drop pod, but more can be crafted using 10 Iron Rods, 15 Cables, 50 Wires, and two Reinforced Iron Plates. Once the necessary resources are collected, a Zipline can be crafted at the Equipment Workshop.
Ziplines can be used to glide across Power Lines simply be equipping the tool, jumping at the wire, and holding down the left mouse button. As soon as the button is let go, the Pioneer will jump off the Power Line. Players will automatically jump when leaving a Power Line, which can be useful for transferring to another wire. Once players are on a Power Line, the direction they're traveling in can't be reversed.
Ziplines are a great way to get around, but there are limitations. If a Power Pole is in the way, the Pioneer may get stuck, and players will have to use the directional keys to try to free them. Most Power Lines in Satisfactory can be transferred to, but they need to be close enough. Transferring also won't work if the angle between the two Power Lines exceeds 80 degrees. Even though there are a few constraints, Ziplines are still an essential traveling tool in Satisfactory.
