At this point in the season, fans of the New York Yankees, or any MLB team for that matter want just one thing, and that is to watch Aaron Judge tie the single-season home run record in the American League that was set by Roger Maris all the way back in 1961.
What they don’t want to see is pitchers walking Judge, whether it’s intentional or not.
Tonight, Judge can tie the home run record, but he could also tie another mark that might be a little more frustrating.
If and when he walks for the first time tonight, it will mark the ninth consecutive game in which he has been walked, which will be a career-high for him.
It would also tie longest walk streak by any player in baseball this season.
When Aaron Judge gets walked for the first time tonight, it will be for his career-high ninth game in a row and it will tie the longest walk streak of any MLB player so far this season.
Of course, history is history, and it’s never a bad thing to make some history.
But in the case of Judge, fans don’t want to see him tie a walk record tonight when the Yanks take on the Boston Red Sox.
In fact, they’re tired of waiting around for him to hit his elusive 61st home run of the season.
Fans want the home run record tied and then broken, which is something Judge has plenty of time to do with just 13 games left in the 2022 season.
The clock is ticking though, and everybody is getting impatient.
Watching him tie a walk record won’t make anybody feel any better.
It just depends on if the Red Sox decide to pitch around him at any point or if he even draws a walk tonight.
We’ll see what happens tonight.
Either way, Judge could make some history tonight.
